so, i don't think i've mentioned my bathroom yet.

it's an adventure every time i go in there. i keep the door shut at all times, simply to keep all the bugs that get in there from finding their way into my room...it's like a jungle in there, since the window doesn't close all the way...the first night i was here, i woke up and saw my sink FILLED with dead flies and mosquitoes and such. Currently, there are at least 8 spiders residing on my ceiling.

the set up is a sink, a toilet, and a shower. but there's no real "shower", just a spout, shower head, and hot-water heater...when you use it, water gets EVERYWHERE, all over the bathroom.

adventure every time.

i'm kind of getting tired of the indian food all the time...this morning, i think we're going to a hotel down the road to try and get an american-type brunch...french toast! pancakes! eggs! woo!

this weekend is a big festival for ganesha (the ganapati festival), who is that god with the elephant head and human body. it's apparently a big day for mothers to take their daughters shopping for saris and stuff, and they take these ganesha statues, that i think are usually made out of clay and submerge them in the rivers where they disintegrate. Recently, though, they've outlawed this practice with the painted figures, just because the paint was like, a major bio hazard or something...having it dissolve in the water. So now, if you have a painted figure, you have to just put it in a bucket to disintegrate...only unpainted statues can go in the water.

classes are going well. the hindi teacher LOVES the india head bobble. but all the teachers are great.

i'm going to keep trying to figure out how to post my pictures online. but once i do, i'll let you all know where you can find them.
