i need to buy some stationary/envelopes etc but once i do, i'm going to try to hit up the post office as well...

after gloating about how i was invincible and incapable of getting hit, i was smacked in the face by karma itself. i was unable to move from my room from monday night until late yesterday afternoon, and was then confined to my bed/bathroom again from last night until this afternoon...i'm feeling a ton better, except i think i'm extremely dehydrated. i still can't really hold anything i eat down, so in the past two days, i've eaten a slice of toast, half a mini bananna, some rice, water, a piece of naan, and a coke. blarghhh. but i'm feeling better, and will hopefully be back to functioning ability tomorrow.

serves me right for thinking i could come here and be untouched by "delhi belly"

good news, however, is that they finally came into my room and removed all the spider sac(k)s from my curtains and window sills. i hope that brings the rate of spiders i kill in my room per day (now, an average of 4/day) down.

i'm thinking about looking into getting sitar or tabla lessons here. i don't know when i'd ever have time to do it, since i'm taking 6 classes (7 if you count the one i'm auditing), but where else would be better to learn? plus, i'm jealous of gwennie, whose voice teacher brings her gifts of gold jewelery, home cooked food, and jasmine flowers. but rly. i think it would be the time and place to learn.

we went to these temples on monday which were amazing. one was a hoysala temple that is no longer in use, but we got to climb around and explore the place. i felt like i was in an indiana jones movie or something...the carving was so intricate and tightly done, the birds were screaming in the trees, and we had to walk in the shaded parts to avoid burning our feet on the hot stone ground. amazing pictures, which i'm, of course, unable to put on the internet. i promise that when i get home, i'll find a way to put some of them up.

i can't stop thinking about how i'm going to be missing the fall at home. send me a leaf or two. or acorns. i like acorns.

i sound like my mother.
